The Town Council’s Environment and Community Committee is authorised by the Full Council to take responsibility for the protection and improvement of the town and local area and meets quarterly throughout the year plus additional meetings where necessary. They make recommendations to the Full Council regarding any land or property works, seeking professional advice where appropriate.
A close eye kept on work required to footpaths, pavements, cycle-ways, roads,
waterways, horticultural and arboriculture works, street furniture (including street lighting, planters and waste bins), play areas, and play equipment including Dovercourt Skate Park and the Putting Green.
However, not all of this falls within the Town Council remit, so members liaise closely with our Tendring District Council partners on the maintenance of those items for which they have specific responsibility.
