P104/13 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
RESOLVED that the minutes of the Town Planning meeting held on Wednesday 5th March 2014 (previously circulated) be approved by the Committee and signed by the Chairman as a true record.
P105/13 MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
Cllr Morrison referred to 14/00164/FUL in relation to the Asda application and commented that following a visit to Bobbits Hole, that the fresh water which runs into the lake, runs off of the existing car park, and raised concerns that should the application go ahead, which would see a 4-pump petrol filling station sited within the car park, the water entering the lake could be contaminated.  Cllr Morrison suggested HTC raise concerns with the planning authority and ask them to confirm that should the application be successful, that conditions are in place to ensure that any water from the petrol filling station goes into separate drainage rather than that which is connected to Bobbits Hole.  The Clerk agreed to write to the Planning authority.
P106/13 PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Committee considered a schedule of planning applications for weeks ending 28th February and 7th March, 14th March and 21st March.
RESOLVED: Recommendations in Appendix ‘A’ be submitted to Tendring District Council.
P107/13 MATTERS RECEIVED IN THE POST OR INFORMATION RAISED BY

  • The Clerk notified members of the reasons for the refused Magistrates Court application – 13/01471/FUL, referring to the applicable planning legislation.
  • The Clerk notified members that the application in relation to 32-34 Kingsway – 14/00105/FUL had been approved.
  • Cllr I Henderson raised the issue of the condition of the land and hoardings surrounding the burned-out bungalow in Stour Road, Harwich, and confirmed that he’d liaised with Matthew Lang at the district council, who confirmed that the council’s Building Control Team had received a Building Demolition Notice this week and an Initial Notice relating to the construction of 6 flats on the site, with the corresponding planning permission in place.  He further confirmed that he’d contacted the agent who advised that demolition would start imminently and would contribute to the tiding of the plot.  He finally confirmed that the landowner would be replacing the hoardings and this would be monitored by the council.
