MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF HARWICH TOWN COUNCIL PLANNING COMMITTEE
HELD ON 1st SEPTEMBER 2010 at 6.30pm
at 1912 CENTRE, COW LANE, HARWICH

Mrs Holbrook suggested that the £85,000 Lidl 106 agreement money be used in the community to build a new boating hut at Dovercourt boating lake or to teach young children to row. Councillor Calver confirmed that the £85,000 from Lidl is designated money for Dovercourt Town Centre with certain criteria that it can be used for, therefore the Council need to seek a briefing with members of the public and traders to discuss the matter.

Councillors Double and Henderson explained how the 106 agreement is applied and conditions are put in place.

Cheryl Thompson asked where the tariff and relevant information could be found. It was confirmed that answers could be found on the Tendring District Council website.

Mrs Bradnum stated that as the time limit, to use the £85,000 106 agreement money was 2014, the matter needs to be sorted out.

P24/10 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors J Brown, P Burke, B Howlett and M Gardner.

P25/10 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS
Councillors McLeod and Rutson declared they are members of Tendring District Council’s Development and Control Committee.

P26/10 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
RESOLVED: that the minutes of the meeting held on 11th August 2010 (previously circulated) be approved by the Chairman and signed as a true record.

P27/10 PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Committee considered a schedule of planning applications for weeks ending 6th August, 13th August and 20th August 2010.
RESOLVED: that the recommendations of Appendix ‘A’ are submitted to Tendring District Council.

Application No 10/00912/FUL – Weekly market on Dovercourt High Street – Full details relating to the planning application had been sent to all members, these clarified points raised at the meeting held on 11th August 2010. The Council unanimously supported the proposal and asked for a caveat to be included in the comments stating that Harwich Town Council are extremely supportive of this scheme and ask for the application to go through as smoothly as possible.

P28/10 LARGE RAILWAY SHED AT HARWICH RAILWAY STATION
Councillor McLeod informed members that the large railway shed at Harwich railway station is to be used to build a replica of the Mayflower ship.

P29/10 DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the Town Planning Committee will be held on 22nd September 2010 at 6.30pm at the 1912 Centre, Cow Lane, Harwich.

The Chairman closed the meeting at 6.55pm
