MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF HARWICH TOWN COUNCIL PLANNING COMMITTEE
HELD ON 15th DECEMBER 2010 at 6.30pm
at 1912 CENTRE, COW LANE, HARWICH

Mr Rogers requested an update of the Harwich Quayside consultation and was informed by a member that the matter would he discussed at the next full Council Meeting.
Mr Rogers asked why the minutes of the last meeting were not on the Harwich Town Council website. A member confirmed that no minutes are published until approved by Council.
Mr Rogers suggested the councillors’ profiles on the website were out of date. The Clerk will request updated profiles be sent direct to our website provider. Mr Flavell reported that on reading the Tendring District Council website, it stated that Gas House Creek car park is the pivotal car park of the old town (Harwich) but was concerned as this land has been put out for tender. Councillor Payne stated that there will be loss of car parking on Harwich Quay that would have been compensated by using Gas House Creek for that purpose. Councillor Payne went on to report that the Haven Authority had contacted him personally as they will be affected by deliveries into their car parks.
P59/10 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors B Howlett, M Gardner, P Burke, A Morrison and R Callender, G Calver, A Colbourne.
P60/10 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS
Councillors J Brown and D Rutson declared they are members of Tendring District Council’s Development and Control Committee. Councillor Payne declared a personal interest in Planning Application No. 10/01256/FUL as proposer of the Timberfields memorial garden. Councillor Double declared a personal interest in Planning Applications No. 10/01334/FUL.
P61/10 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
RESOLVED: that the minutes of the meeting held on 24th November 2010 (previously circulated) be approved by the Chairman and signed as a true record.
P62/10 HUTCHISONPORTS PRESENTATION
Councillor J Brown informed members that the presentation by Hutchison Ports has been rescheduled for 20th December 2010 at the Ramsey Memorial Hall, Ramsey at 7.00pm. The Clerk confirmed that a public notice has been placed in the local paper and notices sent to the library, Waddesdon Road office and posted on local notice boards.
P63/10 PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Committee considered a schedule of planning applications for weeks ending 19th November, 26th November and 3rd December 2010.
RESOLVED: that the recommendations of Appendix ‘A’ are submitted to Tendring District Council.
Councillor Payne updated members on Planning Application 10/01256/FUL which is to place an armillary sphere sundial containing the names of the 1953 Harwich flood victims. Tendring District Council will grant a free licence, once planning permission has been given.
P64/10 TREE PRESERVATIONORDERS
The Council noted receipt of two tree preservation orders from Tendring District Council.

P65/10 DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the Town Planning Committee will be held on 5th January, 2011 at 6.30pm at the 1912 Centre, Cow Lane, Harwich.
The Chairman closed the meeting at 7.05pm
