P79/09 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors J Brown, Burke, Double, Gardner, Howlett, Morrison and Tyrer.
P80/09 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS
Councillor McLeod declared that he is a member of Tendring District Council’s Development and Control Committee.
P81/09 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
RESOLVED: that the minutes of the meeting held on 17th February 2010 (previously circulated) be approved by the Chairman and signed as a true record.
P82/09 HARWICH QUAYSIDE LIGHTING
Further to Minute 75/09, a member reported that all the lighting strings had been removed from the Harwich Quayside. A letter received from David Hall of Tendring District Council advised members of costs for the erection of new lighting at Harwich Quay.
RESOLVED: to write to David Hall and advise that Harwich Town Council would wait until further discussions of the street scene at Harwich Quay have transpired.
P83/09 PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Committee considered a schedule of planning applications for weeks ending 12th February, 19th February and 26th February 2010.
RESOLVED: that the recommendations of Appendix ‘A’ are submitted to Tendring District Council.
P84/09 APPLICATION 09/01197/FUL – PERMANENT MOORING OF LV18
A letter was read from Councillor Tyrer expressing her concerns regarding a decision made by Harwich Town Council to approve Planning Application No. 09/00197/FUL for a permanent mooring of former Trinity House manned vessel no. LV18 to provide visitor attraction; with associated scrape of river bed; 6 no.
mooring posts; and access gangway, which was called in at Tendring District Council by members of Harwich Town Council.
A member, who also serves as a Tendring District Councillor, stated that this item was on the agenda as a Part B for a decision to be made as to whether or not the Council wished the LV18 to be moored there. RESOLVED: to write to Councillor Nick Turner, Chairman of Tendring District Council to reiterate the
support of Harwich Town Council for the last manned light ship to be berthed at Ha’Penny Pier. It was noted that Tendring District Councillors present, were advised not to vote.
P85/09 DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the Town Planning Committee will be held at 6.30pm on 31st March 2010 at The 1912 Centre, Harwich.
The Chairman closed the meeting at 7.20pm
