Age Concern Colchester and North East Essex
As lockdown restrictions have now eased, we’ve restarted our face-to-face community groups and I’d like to draw your attention to the following being held within Harwich for residents aged over 60:
Dementia Café: – held every 4th Wednesday, 2-4pm, at Park Pavilion, Barrack Lane, Harwich CO12 3NS
Friendship Club – Starting 15th September, then held every 2nd Wednesday, 2-4pm, at Park Pavilion, Barrack Lane, Harwich CO12 3NS
Veteran’s Club – Starting 20th October, then held every 3rd Wednesday, 2-4pm, at Park Pavilion, Barrack Lane, Harwich CO12 3NS
Posters for each of the events are attached in case you’re able to share them to help increase local awareness, which would be greatly appreciated.
My colleagues Christine and Nicki have said that the Dementia Café has a strong weekly attendance and is regularly at maximum capacity of 15. It would be great for the new Friendship and Veteran’s Club to follow suit and provide valuable social support and community connectedness for those who have become lonely and/or isolated during successive lockdowns.
