13/08 MAYOR’S
ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Mayor gave details of engagements undertaken
including details of funds raised for the Mayoress’
charities as a result of a raffle held at the reception to
celebrate his own election and the launch of the
Mayoress’ Appeal.
14/08 MINUTES RESOLVED: that the minutes of the meetings held on
the 2 nd April 2008 and 15 th May 2008 (previously
circulated) be approved by the Chairman and signed as a
true record. Reference minute 01/08, Cllr Henderson
agreed to supply Cllr McLeod with a copy of his speech.
15/08 ESSEX AREA FORUM The Clerk gave a brief report on the Essex Area Forum

held on 8 th April 2008 including details of the
presentation by Essex Police regarding Local Policing
Policies, Neighbourhood Policing and Neighbourhood
Action Panels.
16/08 ALLOTMENTS
COMMITTEE
Cllr Colbourne presented the minutes of the meeting held
on 16 th April 2008.
RESOLVED: that the minutes be adopted.
17/08 ENVIRONMENT AND
HIGHWAYS
COMMITTEE
Cllr Tyrer presented the minutes of the meeting held on
the 1 st May 2008.
RESOLVED: that the minutes be adopted.
18/08 BRIEF REPORT OF
MEMBERS
Cllr McLeod gave details of his final engagements as
Mayor including the Relay Run of Disabled People on
14 th May. Cllr Double gave a brief report on the Free
School Foundation Charity. Cllr Wares reported that
VIBE Youth Club was unable to make use of the land to
the rear of the Magistrates Court as it was not suited to its
needs.
19/08 NEWSLETTER The Clerk reported that the newsletter is close to
finalisation and that copies would be distributed at
various points in the town with further copies delivered to
local households as per agreed deadlines.
20/08 FINANCIAL UPDATE
AND RECORD OF
PAYMENTS
Payments and receipts, current balances, financial activity
against budgets ad earmarked funds were noted.
RESOLVED: to authorise payments as listed.
21/08 THE LICENSING ACT
2003
An application for Grant of a Premises Licence from Thai
Up At The Quay, 1 Eastgate Street, Harwich was noted.
22/08 BOUNTY FOR SPECIAL
CONSTABLES
Members noted a request from the Town Council of
Frinton and Walton to support the introduction of a
bounty scheme for Special Constables in the Tendring
District.
23/08 CIVIC AMENITY SITE
WEST END LANE
A letter from Mr Roe of the Civic Amenity Site, West
End Lane, Dovercourt was noted.
The Chairman closed the meeting at 8.05 pm
