E14/13 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
RESOLVED that the minutes of the Environment & Community meeting held on 20th May 2013 (previously circulated) be approved by the Committee and signed by the Chairman as a true record.
E15/13 MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
None
E16/13 PUTTING GREEN
Members discussed suggestions put forward to enhance the putting green with the aim of increasing the footfall and income. Suggestions included all weather table tennis, improved crazy golf, mini tennis, bungee trampoline and volley ball.
RESOLVED: Clerk to investigate options for installing improved crazy golf.
E17/13 LOCAL HIGHWAYS PANEL
The Clerk updated members with the following projects approved by the Local Highways Panel:
•Old Harwich – speed survey
•Ingestre Street Junction – lining work
•George Street Junction – £2000 set aside for investigation work
•Parkeston Road – Speed survey agreed for this road
•The Hangings – Bicycle route agreed
•Lower Marine Parade – Pedestrian Crossing
•Pattricks Lane – Adoption by Highways at some point this yearEssex Highways – Speed restriction referrals to LHP- noted
E18/13 MATTERS RECEIVED IN THE POST OR RAISED BY MEMBERS
Essex County Council – Ash Dieback – Clerk confirmed that contact had been made with TDC for guidance and their offer of assistance to monitor any Ash trees that may be the responsibility of HTC.
RESOLVED: Clerk to notify TDC of any Ash trees which HTC are responsible for and request them to be added to their annual inspection.Future Projects- The Chairman requested members to consider future projects for the Council to undertake and projects suitable for referral to the Local Highways Panel.
RESOLVED: Clerk to request suggestions from all members for consideration at the next E&C Committee.
E19/13 DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the Environment & Community Committee will be held at the Guildhall, Church Street, Harwich on 4th September 2013 at 7pm
E20/13 EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC
Pursuant to Sub-Section 2 of Section 1 of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 the meeting is closed to the press and public for the transaction of the under-mentioned business:
Voluntary position to assist the Committee with all aspects of tree and shrub planting for the Dovercourt and Harwich area
•To review job title and scope of responsibilities
•To review letters of interest received for the voluntary position
