MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF HARWICH TOWN COUNCIL PLANNING COMMITTEE
held on Wednesday 16th February 2011 at 7pm
at The 1912 Centre, Cow Lane, Harwich

There were no questions

The Chairman opened the meeting and Councillor Calver proposed a motion to suspend Standing Orders which was duly seconded to enable public discussion regarding parking in Harwich Town to continue. The proposal was unanimously agreed.

P81/10 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Received from Councillors M Gardner, J Brown and R Callender.

P82/10 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS
Councillor Rutson declared an interest in regard to application 11/00068 and Councillors Rutson and McLeod as members of the Development and Control Committee TDC.

P83/10 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
It was RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 26th January 2011 (previously circulated) be approved by the Committee and signed by the Chairman as a true record.

P84/10 PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Committee considered a schedule of planning applications for weeks ending 21st January, 28th January and 4th February 2011.
RESOLVED: Recommendations in Appendix ‘A’ be submitted to Tendring District Council.

P85/10 POUND FARM
Further to minute 77/10, a letter was received from the Interim Head of Planning Services, TDC, dated 7th February 2011. Councillor Tyrer said the situation at the time in question may be explained as a mis-understanding. Responsibility and decision is for Planning Services TDC – Harwich Town Council being consulted as a matter of courtesy.

It was noted that Pound Farm is listed and on the buildings at risk register (initiated by Harwich Town Council) and it was considered appalling that the building has been allowed to get to this state.
RESOLVED: The Acting Clerk to write to the Interim Head of Planning Services concerning this, their responsibility to listed and buildings at risk registered properties and enquire as to the long-term intentions for Pound Farm.

P86/10 HARWICH WIND PORT SUMMIT
Further to minute 79/10, letter from Bernard Jenkin MP to Harwich Town Council is for discussion at Full Council meeting to follow.

P87/10 DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the Town Planning Committee will be held on 9th March 2011 at 6.30pm at Esplanade Hall, Wellington Road, Harwich.

The Chairman closed the meeting at 7.30 pm
