Extra Time for Comments on Large Harwich Planning Application

Extra time is being permitted for people to register comments on a large Harwich planning application.

A planning application to develop the historic Navyard has been submitted to Tendring District Council (TDC) for consideration.

The proposed development, if agreed, would consist of 373 homes, commercial and public open space along with new flood defences at the site.

Due to the scale of the application, and the fact some of the standard consultation period fell over the Christmas period, TDC is allowing additional time for people to make comments on the scheme.

People can submit their comments online via the Public Access part of the TDC website (www.tendringdc.gov.uk), using application reference 19/01837/FUL, or by emailing planning.services@tendringdc.gov.uk.

Comments can also be made in writing by sending them to Planning Services, Council Offices, Weeley, Essex, CO16 9AJ, including the reference number 19/01837/FUL on the envelope.

Comments will be accepted up until the day the decision is determined. The date for this has not yet been set; the current determination deadline is 3 March 2020, but it is not uncommon for this to be extended for larger applications and is more likely to be in the Spring/Summer.

Therefore anyone looking to comment is being encouraged to make their views known as soon as possible.
